Asian markets end in the red

The Asian markets had a weak closing, across the board. - Asian markets trade weak - Asian markets remain weak - Mixed cues across Asia - Asian markets end flat; Hang Seng up 1% - Asian markets off day"s lows - Asian markets end in green The Hang Seng declined 127 points to 20,598 and the Nikkei dropped 77 points to 10,512. The Shanghai Composite Index was down 34 points at 3,094. The Taiwan Weighted Index slipped 54 points to 7,872 and the Seoul Composite shed 14 points at 1,670. The Straits Times ended flat at 2814. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------(Updated at 1045 am) The Asian markets continue to move in red. The Hang Seng has declined 184 points or 1% to 20,542. The Nikkei has dropped 56 points or 0.5% to 10,535. The Shanghai Composite Index is down 21 points at 3,108. The Taiwan Weighted Index has slipped 53 points or 1% to 7,874. The Straits Timnes and the Seoul Composite are flat at 2,811 and 1,678, respectively. _____________________________________________________ (Updated at 0826hrs) The Hang Seng is quoting at 20,486, weaker by 239 points or 1.1% and the Nikkei is at 10,463, lower by 127 points or 1.2%. Straits Times is at 2,808, down 11 points or 0.3%, Seoul Composite has shed 12 points or 0.7% at 1,671 and Taiwan Weighted has lost 27 points or 0.3% at 7,900. The Shanghai Composite has opened lower by 10 points or 0.3% at 3,118. The Dow Jones and Nasdaq had lost more han 2% each on Friday.
